Finding New Keywords

There are other ways to find new keywords to target with your website apart from using the Google keyword tool and keyword research software. What’s even better this method will contain keywords that are currently getting the highest search results.

The simple thing is it can all be done using the Google search box and not by using software or Google’s keyword tools. It’s called predictive search. Each time you begin typing your search query into Google it guesses what you are trying to type and lists the possible queries as you begin tying into the search box. It does this based on the most popular search queries.

As you type each letter you will see the possible search terms to the right in grey lettering and also below in a drop down box. For example if you are looking for hardwood floors once you have only typed in “hard” Google will begin displaying it’s suggested results like this:

hard rock cafe

followed by this in descending order in the drop down box:

hard rock cafe

hard rock calling

hardwick hall

hardest game ever

hardens

-
Why is this important? Google displays these based on the most frequent search queries. And as you see begin typing in more letters and words the suggested results change dramatically. You do not have to choose once of their suggested results, they are only provided to make your Google experience faster.

So for seo, Google is providing the top searched keywords in it’s most recent database. So if you have an online store selling tennis equipment, start tying in queries based around tennis, tennis shoes, buy tennis, and see what comes up.

A simple trick a lot of search engine optimizer’s use is to put a space before the first word and see if there’s anything that looks relevant to your website. Do the search without the space as well. As you change and mix words you will see lots of different search terms.

With this data you can actually find what users are typing in to find products and services and incorporate these new keywords into your website. It won’t take much effort to add a new page in or rework your text and titles and target a new keyphrase to see if it’s profitable.
