Link Diversity

Did you ever use majestic seo or Yahoo site explorer and analyze one of your competitors link portfolios? So you find out your compeitior has 43,000 links and you have 1500. Then once you analyze the data more carefully you find out that 20,000 of your competitors links come from the same source. Maybe all from Digg or some other social media site.

It’s here when their back link profile doesn’t suddenely look so good. A good way to outrank your competitors is with not only with your volume of links, but the diversity of them. Get more high quality links from more website sources and you’ll soon outrank the competition.

You can also build all the low quality links you can in the world. Such as creating profiles in social media sites. These pages come out the box with no PageRank (pr) and won’t have any domain age or links built to them. You may get a little kudos if they are on a strong domain such as Twitter or WordPress but they’ll never beat a link from a PR1 website that’s 2 years old and has lots of links pointing to it.

Getting ahead with seo is all about tactics. If you can’t beat the competition in the short run with link volume, you can beat them with link quality and anchor text choice a lot of the time. That’s the beauty of seo campaigns you can tailor team to your specific needs.
