What should you pump your money into to achieve internet success. Seo or link building? That’s like asking what should you use to make a layer cake, sugar or milk?? Both every time. Link building is not seo, it’s just one of the tools utilized to achieve top Google rankings.
That’s why so many people are caught out with link building schemes and networks. They think if they buy 10 more high pr links this month they’ll be well on their way to internet success. Until next month when they see a shinier new link promotion from some dubious email spammer, an internet marketing-so-called-guru, or worse a seo company.
C’mon seo companies you know who you are, stop selling links and start selling what you are supposed to, SEO. Links do not guarantee any long term or sustainable seo results. When you can’t afford to pay for your links anymore, most of the links you rent will be taken down or disappear. Plus your site will have gone from getting links on a gradual or plentiful basis, depending on how much money you had to splash on your link buying frenzies, to suddenly getting very few or virtually no new links.
This could potentially hurt your rankings even further. When you are getting a flood of links you’ll notice the Google bots visiting your site more frequently to check out what’s going on. Links mean your site is getting popular or some fantastic new product or service you have released is gaining attention. Once the links dry up your site won’t be all that popular to the Google bots. That’s not to say that if you get a whole stack of links at once through a natural product or service release it will hurt your rankings after your initial “launch” is over if done legitimately. Probably quite the opposite.
You may run into trust issues with Google if your links suddenly just dry up one day, at best your site will just stay static in the serps. And after wasting all your money in link building schemes and not opting for a guaranteed first page ranking seo campaign, you may feel a little, well deflated.
