With the release of new shiny link building systems by internet marketing wannabies on a weekly basis, the notion has been developed that there are software and short cuts to this arduous process.

They therefore want a varied selection of links from as wide a selection of websites as possible. Links from websites of a same vein to yours are said to carry weight, but Matt Cutts from Google implies they trust links from sites that have high authority. I.E. sites that have high page rank and have thousands of links pointed to them. It would look unnatural to have all the links to your website from sites that have the same subject matter as yours. It would also be quite restricting to your link building progress.
The best seo consultants aren’t the ones who have the best software or the latest search engine optimization tools, but rather, the best systems. By systems I mean they can build links faster, create content faster, can get that distributed to more places, can participate in social media platforms, and can create higher perceived web content. If content of a high quality is being distributed and picked up by an ever increasing number of subscribers you or your clients websites or staff will be perceived as experts in their field.
Once this happens your subscribers will happily share your content. When you combine this on social network platforms such as Face Book and Twitter your content can quite easily be shared and syndicated all over the web and you will get an ever increasing supply of back links. This is the process of leverage. You put in all the heavy lifting at the start by providing free high quality content and eventually the scales will tip, where your content will actually be syndicated by internet users.
